My Life, My Experiences.... Part - 3

On the first day of my office, I started off from my home with great enthusiasm. I took blessings from my parents, best wishes from my sister. My father proudly gave me the keys of his beloved scooter. Ya, my journey can never be accomplished without my father's scooter 'Priya'. 'Priya' happened to be the beloved member of our family in the late 1984s. My father's asset became my liability in 2002 when my father finally took rest from his job and settled with us in Patna. Since then, I and 'Meri Priya' (as my friends always use to say this) were always found together.

Well, coming back to the actual agenda, I kicked 'My Priya' 4 times (as it has a 4-stroke engine) and started towards my office. My office was situated at very interesting location. It was close to Patna Women's College and Patna High Court. These were the only places in Patna were one would always love or at the same time hate to visit. At the main entrance of the building (Vidyut Bhawan, Annexure - II), I could see my Company's Name Board 'Bihar State Beverages Corporation Limited.', that was nice, I liked that coz that made me feel a little proud.

When I entered my office, I was as confused as a baby in topless bar. It was a little bit different from the other usual Bihar Government offices. Well furnished Chambers for GM’s well arranged Cubicles for Managers, Meeting Hall. Oh God !!, I forgot, today is the first day of the Corporation also, that’s why it was giving a different look as if it was some MNC lost in Bihar. Ya, I was with this corporation from day 1. I was the youngest member of the corporation; everyone else was in his late 40's or early 50's. And some were close to their 60's also.

Everybody looked at me with a question in their eyes. And when I gave them my intro, they were a little shocked (I felt like that!!). Well, no one trusted me except Mr. Sanjiv Shanker and Mr. Brajesh Mehrotra (I.A.S.), Managing Director. I worked with Mr. Mehrotra before the corporation officially started from this office. We worked for the development of the transaction software. Our team was of 4 members. Mr. Sanjiv Shanker, Mr. Barjesh Mehrotra, Navanit (Our Main Programmer) and of course me. Mr. Brajesh Mehrotra and Mr. Sanjiv Shanker went to RSBCL (Rajasthan Beverage Corporation) to study their existing system and came up with new ideas about BSBCL. The current structure of the Corporation is entirely their vision.

Well, BSBCL, though came up as a great revolution into my life, not only professionally, but also economically and physically. An old pain of my wrist suddenly came to existence. After lots n lots of different kind of diagnosis, the Doctors found that I was having a hairline fracture in my scaphoid joint. Now, the only out in this case was plastering of my left hand. The major changes that came to my life after that was that 'Meri Priya' wasn't going any where along with me for the next THREE MONTHS..!!!! Don't panic (actually I used to say this to myself), I had same type of fracture into my right hand, a couple of years ago. So, I was well aware that this kind of hairline fracture is worst than the broken legs.

I am always deviated from the actual story line, so sorry for that. Now, my job at BSBCL was to Set Up an I.T. Section in BSBCL were all the transactions and workings are carried out online. Something close to e-governance. Since, most of the I.T. jobs were outsourced; some of my burdens were curtailed. Actual part was the I.T. R & D wing whose primarily work was to develop all the customized Office automation and Transaction software.
